Petit fours are a delicacy I never dreamed I would be able to make on my own. I rarely see them in bakeries and cafes, but whenever I do spot them, they have a way of making me feel like a kid in a candy store. They truly are adorable, sweet, and tasty!
I came across some Halloween petit fours in a local bakery that were shaped like witches, mummies, and jack-o-lanterns (if you follow my Instagram you probably saw them) and thought they were too cute to pass up. They didn't last very long in my house, and once they were gone, I started searching images and recipes for petit fours on Pinterest. It was pretty much all I did for three days straight on my free time. So, I decided to make my own.
I used a pound cake recipe for the cake portion, filled the middle with pumpkin butter, coated them with chocolate, and topped them with sprinkles. I had a few setbacks while making them, but overall they turned out really pretty and delicious. I would love to make them again, and was thinking about posting a recipe for them if I do.
